Our Approach to Disability Support
At The Diverse Collective, we understand that everyone’s experiences, strengths, needs and goals are different. Additionally, we design supports that are person-centred, strengths-based, trauma-informed and guided by recovery principles.

A trauma-informed approach recognises that past and current experiences influence how a person feels. It also affects how they communicate, build trust and engage with support. We aim to provide support that promotes safety, choice, trust, collaboration and respect.
Our recovery-focused approach recognises that recovery is personal. It is not about telling someone what their life should look like. We support people to build on their strengths. They can make their own choices and develop independence. In addition, they work toward goals that are meaningful to them.
We have particular experience supporting people with psychosocial, neurological and intellectual disabilities, complex disability support needs and complex behaviours. We acknowledge that people’s needs are interconnected, so we assess the whole person rather than focusing solely on a diagnosis or disability.
Your choice and voice matters.
You should have a say in how your supports are provided.
We take the time to understand what is important to you, including your goals, strengths, routines, preferences, communication needs and what makes you feel safe and supported.
Where appropriate, we can also work collaboratively with your family, nominee, Support Coordinator, health professionals and other people you choose to involve.
Our aim is to provide NDIS support that respects your experiences, builds on your strengths and supports greater choice, independence and participation in everyday life.
Your voice remains at the centre of your supports.
