Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA) is temporary accommodation for eligible NDIS participants who need somewhere suitable to live while they wait for a longer-term housing option.
MTA is designed to be a short-term solution. For example, you may need MTA while you are waiting for home modifications to be completed, assistive technology to be installed, or a longer-term disability-related housing option to become available.
How can MTA help?
Medium-Term Accommodation may provide you with a safe and suitable place to stay while your longer-term living arrangements are being organised.
Your accommodation needs will be different from someone else’s. Therefore, we will take the time to understand your situation, your support needs and what is important to you.
MTA funding generally covers the accommodation itself. The disability supports you need while staying in MTA are usually funded separately through your NDIS plan.
Is MTA right for me?
MTA is not automatically available to every NDIS participant. Whether it is suitable will depend on your individual circumstances, NDIS plan and funding.
If you are unsure, you can talk with your Support Coordinator, NDIS contact or other people involved in your supports.
